The Americana is the tailed version of the Araucana.

These birds are equally beautiful and usually sport a beautiful muff. This strange breed gets its name from an Indian tribe of Chile where they were first found. Araucanas lay pretty colored eggs of blueish-green shades from turquoise to deep olive. Araucanas are a medium size with short combs. They have wonderful color combinations and patterns. Baby chicks come in all colors. This is an unusual breed that most folks keep for their colorful egg laying and not for exhibition.
