Salmon Favorolle

Best-known variety of Faverolles, the Salmon, which are a composite breed originating from crosses of Houdans, Dorkings and Asiatic breeds in the village of Faverolle, France where they were originally bred. The plumage of the male and female is completely different. They have a very stocky appearance with beards, muffs, five toes on each foot and feathers on the legs and feet. They are one of only a few Standard breeds, which lay tinted or cream-colored eggs.
